Harmony Republic was founded in January 2010 by three entrepreneurs, Jon Dicus, Justin Tam and John Tumminello. Their passion for artists and positive social change led to a year of exploration to create an initiative that supports the ongoing development of art and makes a positive impact on society. And was Harmony Republic was born.
John Tumminellowas born and raised in New York City where he studied Humanities, Arts and Business at New York University and received an MBA from Columbia University. His professional career began at JP MorganChase, where he spent 15 years in Sales, Marketing, Management, Human Resources and Internet positions. After writing songs and managing bands on the side, John moved to Nashville in 2005, pursuing a life long dream of working in the music industry. John has ushered at the historic Ryman Auditorium, made concert posters and the Hatch Show Print Shop, booked shows at the legendary Bluebird Cafe, written entertainment blogs and worked as Digital Marketing Director for two radio stations. While looking for a way to support Nashville's emerging artist community, John and Jon Dicus co-founded Music City Unsigned, where they provide artist development and promotion services to help independent Nashville musicians further their careers.
Jonathan Dicusjourneyed from his hometown of Fayetteville, Arkansas to attend the Mike Curb College of Music Business at Belmont University in pursuit of his love for the Arts. As a kid Jon acquired a deep love for art and music and dreamt of being involved in both as a career. After graduating Belmont and completing music industry internships at Sony Nashville, Word Entertainment and Wild Promotions in London, Jon further developed his digital media and art skills by working as a Digital Producer & Graphic Designer at South Central Media, where he implemented client campaigns for two radio stations. In addition to Jon's passion for creativity, he pursued many opportunities to serve others across the world. Jon's experience working with those suffering from HIV/AIDS and poverty in South Africa to also helping those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans moved him to seek out ways combine his love of the Arts and serving others into a single-minded focus. This led him to start-up the emerging artist initiative Music City Unsigned with John Tumminello.
Justin Wade Tam, a native of San Diego, traded a long board and sandy beaches for a porch swing and the musical banks of the Cumberland River in 2002. Attending Nashville's Belmont University in pursuit of a music business degree, he learned the ropes of production, ran his own publishing company and booking agency. Post Belmont, Justin's passion the arts lead him to publish a book and produce 150 music performances/art openings with a collaborative arts project called "Quote." 2009 brought the winds of change when Justin began producing events for international non-profits with Synergy Production Group. 2010 will mark his most joyous life adventure yet as he ties the proverbial knot with Ms. Kacie Hittel! When Justin is not promoting Harmony Republic or producing events, he is probably working on his new musical project Humming House, vagabonding, and most likely growing a well groomed beard.
J.P. Quayle found his calling by studying graphic design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After earning his degree and completing internships in both the printing and sports industries, curiosity soon landed him in Nashville. As an active entertainment blogger and music enthusiast, he has a passion for covering all aspects of the music industry. From volunteering for various artists to researching the finer points of the business side, his knowledge and determination continue to rise to new levels. J.P. is inspired by great art and continually looks for ways to give back and support emerging artists. We are proud to have him on board to help us launch and grow Harmony Republic.
